About

Vision Statement: Our vision is to be a dynamic center of learning and literacy where all students have access to quality resources, technologies, and opportunities that extend beyond the school walls and the school day, empowering them to inquire, think critically, and become lifelong learners prepared for college, careers, and life.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to support student achievement and the school’s instructional goals by:

  • Providing equitable access to print and digital resources, technologies, and learning spaces that meet the diverse needs of our students and staff.
  • Fostering information and digital literacy, critical thinking, and ethical use of information in alignment with school, state, and national library standards.
  • Collaborating with teachers and school leaders to design and deliver integrated learning experiences that strengthen research skills, inquiry, and creativity.
  • Encouraging a culture of reading and lifelong learning, promoting reading for both academic success and personal enjoyment.

About the Librarian:

I have proudly served as a librarian with Troy City Schools for over 13 years. I spent my first eight years at Charles Henderson Middle School before transferring to Charles Henderson High School, where I currently work with students and teachers to support teaching and learning. I am passionate about fostering a welcoming library environment that promotes literacy, critical thinking, and inquiry. My goal is to provide equitable access to resources, encourage a love of reading, and help students develop the research and digital literacy skills they need for success in college, careers, and life.
