Student Government Association (SGA)
The SGA is a student-led group responsible for organizing various school-wide activities and representing the student body. The officers of SGA are tasked each year with hosting Homecoming at Charles Henderson High School. This task includes selecting the theme for Homecoming Week festivities. SGA Officers also serve as ambassadors and leaders for the entire school body. Students must be 11th - 12th Grades to be eligible for positions in SGA. SGA elections are held towards the beginning of the school year, typically within the first month.

JROTC
Charles Henderson High School has an active JROTC program serving grades 9-12. The program recently underwent a JPA (JROTC Program for Accreditation), demonstrating the program's commitment to maintaining high standards. The program also participates in events like the Wiregrass JROTC STEM Leadership Academy, where cadets engage in STEM activities, and the JROTC Military Ball, fostering camaraderie and teaching proper etiquette.

Interact Club

Charles Henderson High School's Interact is a service club for 9th-12th Grades, sponsored by Rotary International. It provides opportunities for students to engage in community and international service projects, fostering leadership skills and promoting global understanding. Interact clubs are typically supported by a local Rotary club. The leadership experience and community involvement gained through Interact can be valuable assets in college applications and future career pursuits. Members actively participate in service projects that address local needs, making a tangible difference in their communities.

Student-Led: While sponsored by Rotary clubs, Interact clubs are primarily student-run, with members taking on leadership roles and responsibilities.
Global Reach:Interact is an international program with clubs in numerous countries around the world.

Main Project: Each year, Interact clubs typically undertakes at a very special project: one focused on local community. This project is to host a "PROM" for individuals with Special Needs. Interact students decorate, participate, check guest in, visit with the guests, and clean up the venue.

Peer Helpers
Charles Henderson High School Peer Helpers bring together specially trained students who use core skills to assist fellow students with the emotional, societal, behavioral and educational challenges we all face in day-to-day life. Peer Helpers serve as tutors, mentors, mediators and advocates for their peers. Peer Helper Program Coordinators are teachers or counselors at their schools and are specially trained to teach the Peer Helper curriculum.
Studies show that youth seek a peer first when they are struggling and desire help. Peer Helpers are a diverse group of students who go through a selection process and are formally trained by adult leadership on their campus. These trained Peer Helper students gain leadership and counseling skills which guide them as they help their friends and fellow peers overcome or cope with bullying, abuse, substance use, suicide, grief, divorce, body image and more.

Junior Ambassadors

The Junior Ambassadors program is designed to engage future leaders in various aspects of the community and to serve as Ambassadors for the Chamber. The program consists of Leadership Training Day, several Pike County Field Days, and volunteer experiences. The volunteer service includes class and independent requirements for volunteer service hours in our community, school, and Chamber.
Charles Henderson High School Juniors (11th Grade) may apply to become a Junior Ambassador. Applicants must submit their application by the appropriate deadline, along with their resume. Applicants will be interviewed before the selection committee from the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.

Beta Club
Charles Henderson High School Beta Club is part of the National Beta Club Organization.
The National Beta Club, commonly known as "Beta Club," is a national organization for students focusing on academic achievement, service, character, and leadership.
Mission and Activities:
- The Beta Club's mission is to promote academic achievement, character, service, and leadership.
- Its motto is "Let Us Lead by Serving Others".
- Local clubs engage in community service projects.

Each school sets its own academic requirements for joining and maintaining membership. Additional requirements may include good character, community service, and meeting attendance.

Class Officers
Each grade (class) at Charles Henderson High School elects Class Officers each year. These individuals are responsible for coordinating and encouraging "SPIRIT" across their grade level during Pep Rallies and Homecoming. During Homecoming, Class Officers meet with their Class Sponsors to arrange float building for the parade, locate a space to decorate/build their class float, gather supplies, coordinate their class tailgate at the Homecoming Bonfire & encourage their classmates to participate throughout the week.
Junior Class and Junior Class Officers are responsible for set up and decorating for the CHHS Junior/Senior Prom held in the Spring of the school year.
Class Officer Elections for each grade are held at the same time as SGA Officers towards the beginning of the school year.

National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization that recognizes high school students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character. It aims to foster enthusiasm for scholarship, promote leadership, and encourage service and character development in students. Membership is based on these four pillars and is not simply an honor roll; it involves active participation in school and community activities.
Charles Henderson High School students are eligible for consideration beginning their 10th Grade year.
Benefits of Membership:
Beyond recognition, membership provides opportunities for leadership development, community involvement, and networking with like-minded students.
NHS chapters can be found in all 50 states, as well as in U.S. territories and Canada.
